My Bio

Nature lover.

Meandering between photography, editing, retouching and manipulation, earlier some painting. I like to experiment, try new things. Hence you find some variety in my portfolio.

Love traditional arts and crafts, even if I don't do everything myself. .

If you are a traditional artist drawing inspiration from one of my photos for a work of yours, I would be curious to see the result!

Please note a necessary clarification, because DA has more and more degenerated to some 'faving/pushing everything' clubs of fave-beggars:

My favourites are a collection of what I liked because of quality and originality.

Or found interesting (but can not do myself, like certain paintings or sculptures) / want to study more closely for learning the 'how to do', And finally some stocks I used.

I consider it like a collection on my (virtual) wall. I want to look at it from time to time without having to close my eyes.

My favourites are NOT: A bag of wild "please fave back"-clicks on everything. I do not expect you to "fav-back" anything.

On the other hand, if you click on fave: I will look at your work but do not expect me to fav anything back. I do some photos every year, but edit less and publish even less, After a period of comparing with my similars over 10 years. I never upload the day I took it.

I see it as sharing something I like, I have worked on for a time, till I see no more improvement, and I have selected then. Without expecting everybody has to like it. Tastes are different. I serve mine primarily. The work and the pleasure of the image is and was always on my side.

If you have ideas to improve or change something in the photo ( I am often hesitant on cutting sth away), want suggest a new/different technique, go ahead. Those comments became rare on DA lately. Botlike commenting like "beautiful!" is not necessary.

The background of all that you find here.

Since decades we have freed people in developed countries from brainless, monotonous work in factories. In the hope they can be more creative then. But now they do it here: Clicking on a star and writing/copying the same word or short sentence in comments for hours. Over and over. Like machines. Instead of being creative at least with their hobby and improve their doing. We talk about: The brainless-faving crowd with it's botlike behaviour. There some users here who did a half million favourites on works of others in a few years. Over 100 per day on average. Whats a fav of those human click-bots worth? Warning No1: This text contains some irony and sarcasm. Journalists are told in their schools to use irony rarely, better never. Because a lot of people will not get it and misunderstand the text. Irony and sarcasm transmit hard in pure text without twinkling eye contact. A Warning No2. If you are one of those superficial readers commenting everything with some

Some more examples of AI -funjunk Now we have beside ghostwriters digital ghostpainters too. Some time ago people have tested AI made poems - turned out to be strange babbling, because the learned associations are very superficial. Same as in AI "art"-generation. Making a superficial "looking alike" from some learned pieces without deeper understanding creates mostly funny junk. General AI Generators may be good for creating funny fantasy scenes where the law of physics, biology etc. are of no importance. Or for such backgrounds for further photomanipulation. But they clearly have a problem with realistic nature. Too complex for them. Someone in comments remarked that "eyes look creepy". That is easy to understand. The eyes of mammals are very complex, at the same time our brain is trained on noting the smallest deviation in human eyes from our first days. (If I find it again I will link to such creepy eyes, looked like surgery gone wrong!) Aug. 31: Now here is

Read also the next post: Since I am back after a break of one year, I notice a big number of works which are 'AI Generated' - some honestly labeled as such, some not. Of course it is tempting for people , who have no idea how to build and invent a scene, know nothing or not much about perspective, about light and shadow, just to give some keywords to a program, let it do the work producing a scene looking like a painting in a certain style. Often landscapes which are supposed to look realistic at first sight but contain parts contradicting reality. See examples below. But can you honestly sell that as "your art"? Would you sell the work of a commission artist, you gave some rough description of the scene, as yours? Really? With a background in comp. science I am certainly not adverse to programs working as tools, helping humans to enhance their productivity, saving time by taking tiresome tasks from us so we can focus on the creational work. But using a

:+fav: s Hallo Du da - herzlichen Dank :tunes:

that bio is probably a good read for team

lately i would add the removal of the ability to search for favorites even in the interface to mention one within the site, such as in comments or feature journals 😦😳😵🙄

btw to me work of our friend Pajunen that you criticize at length here is good quality snapshot, which surely made him upload it, it just may have got less appraisal numbers than his others masterpieces more elaborate, but being still a lot compared to an average user's work of course, so one can say it appeared there not without any good reasons...

ok anyway wishes for a continued bright future to DeviantArt...

Obviously you have not much experience and comparison in forest photography or photography in general.

you wrote: but being still a lot compared to an average user's work of course, so one can say it appeared there not without any good reasons...

Pajunen is grossly overrated here because of his silly faving club, people who spend their days faving and cheering each other in a strange way for every snapshot they do. I thought my screenshot would help you to see that in comparison. :D

Years ago photographers like that were on top in that sujet:

https://www.deviantart.com/nelleke

I hope you can see the difference and there also is a tutorial for ppl like you under the link, might help you to see clearer in future.

The question is, why those left DA, became inactive and we have so much hyped up average snapshots now.

Maybe you also take a look at 500px "most popular" list. If you dont see the difference to "photography" - top list here in DA I cant help you.

i talked about "good quality snapshot" and you deduced that obviously [i] have not much experience and comparison in forest photography or photography in general...

silly isn't a very respectful or friendly and probably accurate term to qualify one person or many of our fellow artists here

this while you should know also i certainly won't fight to last extremities to support that work were you say it was, or against most other points you expose here and there
